Sweet Home 3D – a free interior design app
Sweet Home 3D is a free interior design application that helps you place your furniture on a house 2D plan, with a 3D preview. Sweet Home 3D helps you to design your interior quickly and easily: draw the walls of your home upon the image of an existing plan, change the color or the texture of each room, and drag and drop furniture onto the plan from a catalog organized by categories in which you can import 3D models created by yourself. Sounds like a grown-up version of the Sims house builder? I tell you what: it is!
And yes, it’s fun. Oh, and so useful! Ever wondered how the black leather couch will fit in your living room? Or should you give a red wall color in your kitchen a try? It will take you an evening to figure out how the program works but than you can easily reproduce your flat and try different configurations, colors and furniture. The limits are on the lights effect over colored objects and the fact that you cannot group several objects to create your own piece of furniture and then move it and turn it as a single object.
